Beau York is an immersive storyteller with a penchant for unconventional methods of connecting audiences to story and rewarding engagement at every level.
As the creator of Midnight High: A Night at the Oxhead, which premiered in Houston, York has joined a growing wave of Texas-based immersive innovators dedicated to onboarding audiences into the expanding world of immersive theatre. Midnight High has been featured by No Proscenium, Broadway World, and Houston Press, and has garnered enthusiastic public praise across social media, ultimately adding and selling out additional performances during its initial run.
York's career has always focused on emerging media and social impact. His insights into narrative and brand development have been featured at events like New Orleans Entrepreneur Week and New Media Europe.
Dedicated to elevating marginalized voices, he co-created and served as executive producer of the Truth’s Table podcast (7 seasons) and, as co-writer and showrunner for the Red Flag Podcast, contributed to the removal of Confederate iconography from the Mississippi State Flag. He also served as an instructor for the Youth Media Project, empowering underserved youth to tell their own stories.
York’s past work has been supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Houston Arts Alliance. He is currently focused on the continued growth of Midnight High and exploring future opportunities to advance immersive theatre as a sustainable and profitable art form.
